Japan struggles- Earth Quake, Tsunami, Nuclear Disaster

Black Friday 11th March 2011

Debris in Kesennuma city on 15 March 2011
From BBC News Site

It was a Black day in the history of mankind.

Japan was first hit by a massive earth quake measuring 9.0 on the Richter scale which triggered a ruthless, destructive tsunami, which in turn has endangered its 7 nuclear reactors.

This happened close to Tokyo, but not in Tokyo. Thank God for that.

This time Japan's  suffering is worse than Hiroshima-Nagasaki Atom bomb tragedy. But this time, Japan has the unanimous support of the entire world. It is so heart warming to see international rescue teams from all over the world work shoulder to shoulder with Japanese, trying to locate any trapped and living person - Not an easy task, considering how the Tsunami simply swept away entire houses as if they were paper boats. 1000s are dead, missing, injured, homeless. Food, electricity, water supply are hit.

Mighty Power of Nature
Just when Man thinks he has conquered nature, he is jolted to accept the "Mighty Power of Nature". Entire world watched in disbelief as the tsunami waves measuring 10m. in height rushing with the speed of an air-craft in flight  simply clean swept villages.- looked like nature's Torpedo

What is indestructible is the human spirit to fight, survive, re-build.

The entire mankind sheds tears for the suffering in Japan. But there is also a sense of hope - we are positive Japan will simply emerge a greater nation than before in the shortest possible time. History is witness to this kind of re-bounce of mankind again and again in the face of adversities.

The saddest aspect of this whole tragedy is the complicated break-down of its 7 nuclear power plants and the radio-active emission threat that looms over Japan and possibly entire mankind today.

We the people of the world are with you Japan. May you get up, shake off all the debris, wash off the muck, and stand up tall, smiling, clean and beautiful once again asap.

Gratitude to all those media channels BBC, CNN, Google- YouTube instant uploads of videos for keeping us updated on all the happenings.

8th March International Women's day

The coconut water seller in Chennai

Today is International Women's day - The world remembers to honor women for their contribution.

What contribution does the woman make to society?

She brings love and warmth where ever she goes. She adds that extra zing, color, beauty, fragrance that makes life that much more interesting

Women are excellent work force, very committed to the job on hand. They are well organized and efficient whether as a home-maker or as a professional.

Women bear children and are the reason for the survival of mankind itself.

Man and woman complement each other. Nature meant them to be that way. Together they co-exist in a mutual GIVE-and-TAKE  relationship.

Women all over the world work hard so that their family can be a little more better off. I am proud of so many many Indian women in my country who sell flowers, vegetables, fruits, eatables, work as dhobi, bus conductors, maids, nurses, teachers, bankers, high end professionals, business women, politicians. Some have it handed down in a platter for them but most of them lead a tough life with enthusiasm and cheer. I am proud of the humble, simple, smiling Indian women I come across in the lanes of life.

Happy women's day

Bret Michaels

I was watching one of my favorite BBC program "Piers Morgan Chat Show" this morning. The guest was Bret Michaels. I was so inspired by Bret.

Never having heard his name, nor being a rock fan, Bret became close to me from that moment onwards.

We are a TEAM BRET
As a valuable member of my team - that is "All the humans of this universe", he touched my life that morning .

He has been detected with TYPE I diabetes since age of 6. He is now 45. He told in his interview he takes 4 insulin injections per day and does 8 blood tests per day. But the guy looks so healthy, so strong and of course so handsome. This is no small achievement. His young daughter aged 12 has also been detected with pre-diabetic condition. He said he will never give up on life.

WALK WALK WALK
Bret insists that daily brisk walk is a must do activity for maintaining good health for diabetics. I myself is a TYPE II diabetic, so Bret simply motivated me to work towards excellent health.

I also believe all those who are genuine entertainers give something of themselves to mankind and we should be grateful for that. They work to make their team ( other humans) happy.

Thank you Bret for being there for all of us.

I googled him up and this is the story of this fantastic young man's life as I read it on his website.

Bret Michaels is, if nothing else, a true survivor. He has survived a lifelong battle as an insulin dependent diabetic, a well publicized near fatal car crash in 1994 and the countless musical trends and fads of the last two decades.

"As soon as I ever start to just go through the motions I'll quit," confessed the 45 year old singer, songwriter, producer, director and actor in a recent interview.

But there's little chance he'll even slow down let alone quit anytime soon. In fact, after more than 20 years in the business this award winning, multi platinum superstar's career continues to move at warp speed.

As front man for the legendary rock band Poison, Michaels has sold 25 million records and scored an amazing 15 chartbusting Top 40 singles including "Talk Dirty to Me," "Something to Believe In," "Nothing But a Good Time" and the timeless #1 smash "Every Rose Has its Thorn."

And in the new millennium Poison's music has been featured in such big screen flicks as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," "Grandma's Boy" and "Deuce Bigelow-European Gigolo." They continue to be one of the industry's top grossing concert attractions and their 2006 "20 Years of Rock" CD was a bona fide Top 20 gold smash. Poison's most recent CD is 2007's "Poison'D" an album of cover songs that have influenced the band members over the years.

Michaels has also produced and written material for other artists including Stevie Nicks. He wrote and produced the song "Love's a Hard Game to Play" which appeared on Nicks' platinum album "Timespace: The Best Of Stevie Nicks."

More recently Michaels could be heard providing background vocals along with Phil Vassar on the Kenny Chesney/Uncle Kracker duet single "Last Night Again."

In the mid-90s Michaels formed a film production company with actor Charlie Sheen. The partnership ultimately led to Michaels writing, directing and starring in several films including "A Letter From Death Row" which he executive co-produced with Sheen.

As an actor, Michaels has made regular appearances on such hit television shows as "Yes Dear," "Martial
Law," and "The Chris Isaak Show." And he has also co-hosted "Access Hollywood" and been a judge on the wildly popular "Nashville Star" program.

Recently, Michaels has played for charity on "Don't Forget the Lyrics" winning $250,000 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Setting his musical sights beyond Poison, Michaels released his debut solo album "Songs of Life" in 2003 followed by the rootsy, Americana flavored sophomore record "Freedom of Sound" in 2005.

The current release, "Rock My World" was released in June 2008 and features a collection of Bret Michaels' solo songs that have been featured on the "Rock Of Love" television series.

"Rock of Love with Bret Michaels" has been a enormous ratings winner for Vh1. The series has became the highest rated series on Vh1 and consistently won its time slot when aired, including multiple airings. Michaels is currently filming a third installment of the series aptly titled "Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels" as the singer is taking the show on the road this time.

"I would play music whether I made it or not," Michaels told a journalist in 2002 and it's that commitment to his art that continues to keep him at the forefront of the entertainment industry.
